The Different Standard

The Different Standard

You’re different.

As a Christian, you’re held to a different standard than the rest of the world. But, when the majority of the world expects something different from you, how can you be expected to live out the Christian lifestyle?

The answer is simple.

Only Jesus can provide the strength and perseverance to keep moving forward in your walk with Him.

Not me. Not your pastor. Just Jesus.

But when we have Christian friends and mentors, we can motivate each other to build our relationship with Christ.

That’s the beauty of the Gospel. Building a relationship with the only one who can save us – Jesus.

Side by side, we can live out the Christian standard and live in Jesus’ name.

It would be a joy if you would join this journey with me and live out The Different Standard.

The Grace of Jesus

The Grace of Jesus

When we follow The Different Standard, the pressure to live a perfect life can be overwhelming. But the truth is, we aren’t perfect. The only perfect person that ever was and ever will be is Jesus. Jesus IS our perfection.

As we make every effort to live for Christ, our efforts can never be enough. So what can we do when every day we fall into sin and worldly temptations?

Thankfully, Jesus offers us His mercy and grace by His death and resurrection. Now that He has given us an opportunity to live in fellowship with Him, we can ask for His forgiveness when we fall short of His Glory. Once we seek Him, we find redemption from our old nature. Christ gives us the second chance that we don’t deserve.

Our sin runs deep, but His grace is far more powerful than our sin. So no matter where you are in your walk with Christ, He is there with open arms calling you to accept his free gift of grace and mercy.

When we live The Different Standard, sometimes we make mistakes. But thankfully, Jesus allows us to return to Him and strengthen our relationship through his grace. I pray that you will seek and find Him today.

The Fruit of the Spirit

The Fruit of the Spirit

The Bible clearly demonstrates the way that Jesus wants us to live. When we give our lives to Christ we are surrendering the old lifestyle and are now held to a new standard. The way we present ourselves and treat other people is a true representation of our love for Jesus.

When we take a look at Galatians 5:22-23, we see a clear portrayal of the Christian lifestyle. The “Fruit of the Spirit” that Paul talks about is a result of the new lifestyle that we take because of our faith. The fruit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self control – are all necessary to maintain The Different Standard that we are held up to.

Therefore, as followers of Christ, we must bear the fruit of the Spirit daily. But in a world filled with those who bear no fruit at all, how can we maintain The Different Standard?

When we have true faith in Jesus, these attributes are clearly portrayed in our lifestyles. When we truly belong to Jesus, we have no choice but to live out that standard!

Of course, we are not perfect. But we must work to show others the grace of Christ. By the fruit we bear, we can show others the beauty of the Gospel.

Let us work together to be witnesses for Jesus and bear fruit daily!
